Product Overview

National Cargo Bureau offers “cradle to grave” risk management support for critical or key infrastructure project cargo shipments.

This service may entail:

  • Technical support to underwriters through project risk analysis, development of critical / key item lists and associated marine warranty survey requirements
  • Attendance at project “kick-off” meeting(s) with underwriters and other relevant parties to verify critical item list, key contacts, shipment timelines, notification and escalation procedures, etc.
  • Risk analysis of each critical / key item including review of project cargo routing (from manufacturing or assembly plant to project site); proposed conveyance(s); packaging specifications; method statements for proposed lifting, handling, stowage and securing; storage; etc.
  • Development of recommendations and / or scope of work for each critical / key item including naval architect and / or survey requirements as deemed necessary based on risk analysis and according to best practice
  • Appointment of surveyors (NCB staff or vetted and approved network partners), based on required skill set and location, to carry out Marine Warranty Surveys
  • Monitoring, reporting and initiation of escalation procedures as required for critical / key item shipment concerns or potential (or actual) breach of warranty or policy conditions
