OSHA 10-Hour Outreach Training – Marine Terminal Safety Course

Training offered in partnership with NSU’s SEAMIST program at no cost to the student

Overview

The OSHA 10-Hour Outreach Maritime Industry Training for Marine Terminal Safety course delivers entry-level safety and health hazard training built specifically for the Marine Terminal workforce. Employees, supervisors, and managers leave with the working knowledge to recognize and control the hazards most common to terminal operations, along with a clear understanding of worker rights and how to raise a concern with OSHA. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an OSHA 10-Hour card.

This course is offered through NCB’s partnership with Nova Southeastern University’s SEAMIST (South East Area Maritime Industry Safety Training) program.

What the Course Covers

The curriculum walks through the hazard areas marine terminal personnel are most likely to encounter on the job, including:

• Introduction to OSHA
• Walking and Working Surfaces
• Fall Protection
• Material Handling
• Electrical Hazards
• Hazard Communication and Hazardous Materials
• Fire Protection and Hot Work
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Ergonomics and Lifting Techniques

Format & Delivery

Instructor-led, delivered online.

Duration

10 hours of instruction held over two consecutive days.
