National Cargo Bureau, Inc. performs inspections with regard to the packing and securing of cargo in containers for transport. Various factors are taken into consideration with packing cargo in containers.

These inspections include:

  • Choosing the correct container for the intended cargo.
  • Inspection of packages for damages.
  • Package count, tally’s.
  • If Dangerous Goods, ensure package type is acceptable for the type of DG.
  • Ensuring proper stowage, weight distribution and space utilization.
  • Ensuring that securing arrangements are sufficient to prevent movement of the cargo in accordance with the CTU Code.
  • Determining height measurements for open top containers.
