Product Overview

This 10-hour training program is intended to provide entry-level safety and health hazard information tailored specifically to Shipyard employees.  Objectives include:

  • Providing employees, supervisors and managers, the skills to recognize, avoid, control, abate and prevent injuries and accidents in the maritime environment.
  • Informing workers about their rights and their employer’s responsibilities and explaining how to file a complaint with OSHA.
  • Educating workers on a variety of safety topics which workers may encounter at a Shipyard or related maritime site.

Topics covered during the course of training include walking and working surfaces, fall protection and scaffolding, electrical hazards and lock out / tag out, hazardous materials and hazard communications, fire protection and hot work, personal protective equipment, confined and enclosed spaces, respiratory protection, and material handling.
