Hatch Sealing Surveys

National Cargo Bureau, Inc. is regularly appointed by various clients to conduct Hatch Sealing Surveys. These surveys are conducted on board the vessel at the completion of loading.

These surveys include the following:

• The sealing of all cargo hold accesses, including hatch covers and manhole accesses, using either box seals or lead wire seals.
• Lead wire seals may be serialized and recorded at the request of the client.
• A Hatch Sealing Certificate is provided to the vessel at the completion of the survey, certifying that all hatches and accesses have been sealed. This certificate is signed by both the attending Surveyor and the vessel’s Master.
