Product Overview

The Container Packers Course is designed for anyone involved in the packing and transport of Cargo Transport Units (CTUs), with a focus on freight containers. It provides practical guidance aligned with the IMO/ILO/UNECE CTU Code of Practice (CTU Code), supporting safe and compliant cargo packing across various transport modes.

The course covers:

  • Key considerations before packing
  • Planning, preparation, and packing methods
  • Cargo securing techniques
  • Container closing and sealing
  • Special requirements for dangerous goods

By completing the course, learners will have an understanding of essential packing and securing practices for the safe transport of cargo and be able to reference the CTU Code for further guidance.

Throughout the course there are links to the CTU Code, either in the text of the main pages or in the reference bar at the bottom of the page.

The course consists of a morning in the classroom followed by an afternoon of hands-on training, during which securing methods specific to containers and cargo on-site are demonstrated and critiqued.
