Marine Terminal General Awareness Hazmat/Dangerous Goods Recognition – Online

These online courses were developed specifically for the Marine Terminal Industry to provide a basic understanding and awareness for those employees working in close proximity to, but without direct responsibility for, hazardous materials/dangerous goods shipments.

The courses are based on the hazard communication requirements of the IMDG Code, inclusive of additional US 49 CFR requirements for international intermodal shipments, and provides an introduction to the new Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of hazard communication for labels and Safety Data Sheets or SDS’s (formally Material Safety Data Sheets – MSDS’s).

These courses provide an overview of hazard classes, and hazard recognition for documentation, marking, labelling, placarding, and emergency response.
